Artist Residencies
We are delighted to be opening up Ossom to artists who are looking to create their next body of work and develop their ideas in a tranquil and inspiring setting.
Come to Ossom for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 4 weeks. There is the possibility to come at any time of the year depending on availability. Once here, you’ll have your own private bedroom with a work desk, terrace, en-suite bathroom and use of the shared spaces. While we are still building our “messy-studio” we recommend visual art practices that can be contained / cleaned up easily, such as painting plein-air, drawing or digital practices. Dance, music, writing and performance-based practices are all suitable for the spaces we have at Ossom. We have ‘ok’ internet, but it is not especially fast, being in a fairly remote setting.
Applications will be carefully considered on a case by case basis to make sure that the expectations and fit are good.

All art-forms considered, but until we have our studio space fully up and running we recommend art practices that can be easily cleaned up.
Us
We are here to host and share the space with you. We are excited for the possibility of inspiring each other and getting creative.
We don’t provide food within the cost of the residency but we’ll happily take you to the shops when you arrive and share the kitchen. It’s very likely, but not a requirement, that we share meals.
Costs
The cost of the residency for 2024 is €500 a week for a single person or €800 a week for a pair of artists sharing one bedroom. In 2025, once more studio spaces and facilities are completed, we will be raising the cost to €600 and €900 respectively.
If you’re offered a residency we ask that you pay in advance via PayPal, bank transfer or cash on arrival.
We encourage artists to apply to funding sources worldwide but at this moment we can’t offer any bursaries ourselves this year. We’re going to be looking into developing the residency program and working with funding options in the near future to make this slice of heaven more accessible.
Creative Space
We invite you to get creative in both your own room and the shared spaces in and out of the house. The garden is growing and has panoramic views in every direction. We will have more creative spaces to offer in 2024.
Getting Around
We recommend coming with a bike or a car if you want complete freedom, as there is little public transport in the immediate surroundings. There are beautiful hikes and walks to go on and the village is a 10 minute drive away.

We aim to respond within 3 working days. We accept applications all year round and we offer flexible arrival and departure dates. We hope we will be able to accommodate all artists who apply, however this is not always the case due to schedules or in the eventuality that we don’t think that we can provide you what you need from your residency, or that your practice may not be suited to the space we have available.
